Boulting Technology updates its service and support offering

Leading systems integrator, Boulting Technology has celebrated the success of its 24-7 emergency support offering by launching a tailored service that focuses on cost effective management of risk. The service, which includes control system audits, preventative maintenance plans and recommended risk reduction techniques encourages improvements to all processes and quality assurance.

Boulting Technology’s new service is available to any business with an automated plant, but is specifically tailored to low-margin manufacturers. The unique risk based approach is bespoke to individual clients, allowing customers to pick from a comprehensive list of services when choosing a level of cover for their control systems. This includes obsolescence analysis and planning, preventative maintenance, spares, repairs, training, system upgrades, standby cover and emergency 24-7 on-site response.

The service offering covers control systems and machinery that typically encompass programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human machine interfaces (HMIs), high level supervisory and control systems (SCADA), communication networks and telemetry systems.

“Manufacturers with limited in-house resources can often be subject to unplanned periods of downtime as issues with their control systems have gone unnoticed,” explained Nick Boughton, sales manager at Boulting Technology. “These problems can be addressed for a relatively low cost, if they are dealt with before a system comes to a standstill. As part of our new service offering, our audits will help to identify improvements in system reliability, which will help lead to a reduction in unplanned maintenance and downtime.

“While 24-7 callout is included in our service and support offering, we carry out control system audits and implement corrective action  to help reduce the need for emergency callout as much as possible.
