When an older adjacent power plant was planned for closure, shared services, such as cooling water, needed to be controlled directly from the remaining gas-fired CCGT plant.

The Brief

The client required a low risk, phased implementation, with a much of the work as possible complete well before the older plant was turned off. The new system was to be the highest possible availability using commercially available, off the shelf (COTS) equipment. Loss of cooling water for more than a few minutes would mean the station having to shutdown.
